IBM Power Ideas Portal

This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

  3. Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

ScreenDesigner support for building menus

ScreenDesigner should support the creation and modification of IBM i menus, at least the integrated editing and compile of the DDSMNU and MNUCMD source members that form the foundation for an IBM i menu.

Use Case:

The use would be similar to part of the function that is currently available in SDA

This RFE has been re-evaluated.  Due to the relatively low number of votes, this RFE is now being declined.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Programming Languages
Product - Developer for Power Systems

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:

As you discontinue support for PDM as the IDE product for IBM i and want to convince people to move to RDi, you shouldn't provide arguments to stay in the past. Do surprise your customers, how easy they can manager their menues inside RDi.
Additionally / optionally you add this feature to the new reduced PDM for administration purposes and provide that for free to anybody buying RDi. Then you stay connected to the past for ever.
As you start putting all PASE commands into the same structure of Menu / CMD / F4 / F1 / F2, you will make your community work faster and expand into new areas and might win friends in linux / open source to support that.
