Add an HTTP status code for SQL not found

When deploying a REST web service based on SQL queries, it is possible to specify an HTTP status code for success (200 by default) and another for error (500 by default).

However, when reading datas by an SQL select and a WHERE clause (e.g., select * from sqlsample.employee where empno = ?), the web service systematically returns 200 even if the line is not found.

The JSON document indicates null content.

We would like to have an HTTP status code of 404 (not found) in this case.

Is it possible, in the deployment wizard, in the "Specify SQL Information" step, to add a parameter "HTTP Status on SQL code not found => 404" ?

IBM understands this requirement and will consider providing an enhancement as part of a future delivery.

The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM view this as a “nice to have” low priority feature.

The CAAC does not necessarily endorse returning a 404, but IWS could offer a customization of returning a desired code on no results.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual IBM Ideas on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your Idea.
