Need a way to track rejected relays in SMTP relay server on IBM i

We just converted our SMTP server from *SDD directory type to *SMTP.  The LPAR is being used as an SMTP relay for other IBM i LPARs and related hardware.  Previously, I could query the QZMF journal and look for "REJECTED RELAY" and see if a server tried to connect but was rejected.  At that point, I could determine what we should do with the server that was attempting to connect.  Currently, nothing on the relay server shows that a connection was even attempted.

That journal is no longer used with the setting at *SMTP.  A way is needed to be able to track things like that in the SMTP server. Preferably with some mechanism that can be automated.

    I really agree with this request, but I would like to see a wider scope. It is not only rejected relays that needs to be logged.
    The logging for *SMTP needs to be enhanced. I would like to see all *SMTP activities go to the QZMF journal (or a new journal), like information about send mails, failed mails and so on.

    As *SMTP keep files in the directory and the maximum time you can get information of them is 14 days, this is way to short for auditing purpose and working with the files is bulky and takes way to much time. Having the same information in an journal as you could with *SDD directory is much easier to work with and you could save this for auditing purpose in an convenient way.
