add lun to asp, disk formatting too long

Today with Flash disk and capacity up to 30TB the function add lun is too long.

When we rebuild lpar from scratch we need many days to do it, moreover, if there are about a hundred lpar to be done.

Is there a possibility to improve this feature

Thanks

There is a tradeoff between being aggressive initializing the disk and not impacting other workloads on the same Storage box. I ran a test were I initialized 50 TB in less than 1 hr. To me this seems reasonable. Can you give the results of the time you were seeing?

The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM view this as a high priority Idea that is important to be addressed.
Initializing disks of any type more quickly, helps in recoveries or system restores of all types. It would also be ideal if this option would be multi-threaded.
