IBM needs to identify access paths for self-training on IBM i

Free access IBM i systems like PUB400.COM have up to the present been critical in the community at providing venues for self-training in IBM i. I and others in the community consider it absolutely necessary that such venues continue, and the IBM take an interest in ascertaining that such resources do not suddenly vanish due to retirement of the providers, etc.

    The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM view this as a very high priority Idea that is important to be addressed.

    It is critical to bring new people to the platform, as well to enhance the skills of existing professionals.

    Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual IBM Ideas on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your Idea.
