This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Thank you for your comment.
I provided feedback to the customer regarding this comment.
The customer themselves has provided additional comments stating that this issue requires urgent improvement.
Regarding CPF5222, they intensely desire that the message be improved to be more understandable.
Thanks
The DDS panel definition for the CHGPWD command specifies ?CHECK(VN)? (check for valid name) on all of the password fields for the QPWDLVL 0/1 panel. The code that displays the panel and verifies the input would send the CPF5222 message if any of the fields contains invalid characters for QPWDLVL 0/1. The message is generic for uses of ?CHECK(VN)? so is not specific to the CHGPWD command. We cannot change the text for the message. We will consider removing the ?CHECK(VN)? specification in a future release and verify the password values within the CHGPWD code.
