The PowerVS IBM i WebConsole has been significantly improved with regards to timing out on the back end and causing issues with installs and other console jobs. This continues to be a point of emphasis and at this time this requirement seems to be trying to address that issue. Switching console types seamlessly is not something that IBM plans to invest in at this time.

Unfortunately the 5250 webconsole is the default and it is really limited.
Using the STS LAN Adapter as a secondary console sometime shows issue, so we need to switch back to web console to gain access to the system. Maybe the issue is not the console switchover, but the console stability when using this mechanism to use ACS LAN Console.
The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM not implement this request.
Is working as designed. One does not change a console from one type to another while it's being used.
