IBM Power Ideas Portal

This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

  3. Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Provide option to disable the Program Verifier

Provide some option to completely disable the Program Verifier.

The verification is not a background task like a search, it is uninterruptable and often takes a very long time, during which nothing else can be done. The verification cannot be cancelled (though there exists a cancel button, it does not work).

I tried unbinding the ctrl-shift-v key binding, but it seems to be hard-coded into the LPEX editor (it is listed as ctrl-shift-v in the Source menu regardless of key bindings).

Use Case:

Try to compile a member using ctrl-shift-c, but press the ctrl-shift-v by mistake (they are right next to each other). Now wait 10 minutes for the verification to grind to a halt so you can compile.

This RFE has been re-evaluated. Due to the relatively low number of votes, this RFE is now being declined.

Although the theme of this request is consistent with our business strategy, it is not committed to the release that is currently under development.
