Enable Kerberos for secondary 5250 session

The ACS configuration allows for using Kerberos when opening a new ACS session and it automatically signs the user in. When the user does a SYSREQ 1, a signon screen is presented for a secondary job for the same session. For security purposes, many Kerberos users no longer have a password. It has been set to *NONE. This leaves them stuck at a signon screen with no way to sign in and the only option is to close the session which causes them to lose any unsaved work in the primary session. This secondary session should also utilize Kerberos for the initial sign in rather than presenting the signon screen.

Your issue with the user being stuck on the signon screen at a secondary session can be fixed by creating a dummy user only used for login and immediately sign off and return to the primary session. The user could be created like this:

    CRTUSRPRF USRPRF(GETMEBACK) PASSWORD(SIGNOFF) INLMNU(*SIGNOFF) LMTCPB(*YES) TEXT('Signoff at logon')

When signing on with the user GETMEBACK, the message "Initial program ended and *SIGNOFF specified for initial menu." will be shown, and when Enter is pressed the user is back at the primary session.

    HTH.

Thank you for submitting your Idea to enhance IBM i Access Client Solutions (ACS).
Please consider using the "File->Run the Same" action to start another 5250 session.
We do not plan on providing this support at this time.
