CREATE VIEW without dependency

We have a need to create views that might span multiple schemas (aka. libraries) and if you create a view that does this, you cannot clear any of the libraries because of the dependency.  My work around has been to create a user defined table function of the complex query, which does avoid the dependencies but overly complicates the process, and then create a view over the UDTF to make it easy to use.  I'd like to be able to have a way to just create a view that is evaluated at the time of execution to avoid the dependency issue.

We understand your request but do not plan to implement it at this time, so we are closing the Idea.

A view, by long-time design, keeps a tight hold on its file dependencies. We do not intend to relax those rules.

Our recommendation is to do exactly what you describe: return the view content from a table function and wrap that with a view.
