Function usage for tape activity

We have service users as well as operators who are used on our systems to perform backup and tape duplication operations via BRMS. Now, for some auditors, we need to minimize the special authorizations for those users, so we created them as *SYSOPR class profiles. This way, they inherited the *JOBCTL and *SAVSYS authorizations. Unfortunately, however, some BRMS programs also require *IOSYSCFG to perform operations such as CHKTAP. This, however, poses a significant security risk; even the new function usage QIBM_IOSYSCFG_VIEW is not sufficient. Therefore, the idea was to define a new function usage (as was recently done with 7.6 tr2) that allows performing tape operations without requiring the *IOSYSCFG authorization.

The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority Idea that should be addressed.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers.  CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual IBM Ideas on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your Idea.
