Configurable auto-formatting of own procedures

The current code formatter only indents known RPG statements like If, Do, Select, ... but doesn't recognize custom written procedures that benefit from proper indentation as well. The result is that these are now aligned so that their indentation is lost destroying the readability of the source.

Use Case:

We have several procedures that benefit from indentation so it would be nice if we would configure the formatter with procedure names to indent or un-indent. For example I have procedures XMLAddNode and XMLCloseNode that I should be able to add to the formatter.

Ex. following code;
XMLAddNode(pXML: 'mynode');
XMLAddNode(pXML: 'mynode2');
XMLAddElement(pXML: 'myelem': 'myvalue');
XMLCloseNode(pXML);
XMLCloseNode(pXML);

its formatting is now destroyed as follows;

XMLAddNode(pXML: 'mynode');
XMLAddNode(pXML: 'mynode2');
XMLAddElement(pXML: 'myelem': 'myvalue');
XMLCloseNode(pXML);
XMLCloseNode(pXML);

Being able to add my own procedure names to the formatter would avoid this (now I can't even use the formatter). A plus would be to import these indent instruction list from a file that I can provide to others.

    We have reviewed this requirement and we feel it would be a beneficial enhancement to the product. We hope to be able to add it to our development plans in the future.

    The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a “nice to have” low priority feature. In terms of auto-formatting, if you want to leave the user formatted piece alone, just don't select that part when auto-formatting the rest.

    Although the theme of this request is consistent with our business strategy, it is not committed to the release that is currently under development.

    A preliminary evaluation of this request indicates that it is consistent with our business strategy. Further evaluation of this RFE is underway.

    Perhaps adding this functionality would allow help formatting other languages--e.g., PASE/QShell scripts, COBOL, etc. If so, I'm also all for this. Otherwise, there are other priorities I would rather see taken care of.
