This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Post an idea.

A previous RFE requested that RDi find text work like standard Eclipse find text. Part of that was the automatic selection of the "Restrict search to selection" checkbox if you have lines selected in the editor. I would like to disable that option if possible. I have spent many years working in Eclipse environments and I have never wanted to search by the selected text only. The only thing it does for me and everyone in our shop is to annoy us as we occasionaly have to uncheck the box because we highlighted text for another reason or highlighted on accident. Please add an option to LPEX->Find text preferences to disable the automatic selection of this checkbox.
Scenario: Developer presses ctrl-f with multi-line selection:
- Populate find field with first line of selection
- Restrict search to selection should be unchecked

This RFE has been re-evaluated. Due to the relatively low number of votes, this RFE is now being declined.
