This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This RFE has been re-evaluated. Due to the relatively low number of votes, this RFE is now being declined.
Although the theme of this request is consistent with our business strategy, it is not committed to the release that is currently under development.
@Parkib,
At times I create a member filter from an iSphere search. Laer I might open several members from the filter using a right-click and 'Open with...' or 'Browse with...' Remote systems LPEX...
@JOSYS36
I'm not seeing how your method helps. For me, it merely puts the LPEX editor in the context of the DDS Design perspective or Report Design perspective. The member is still open in the LPEX editor.
Just switch perspectives. I do this all the time.

Similar to this request, which I believe has merit, I often work on DSPF source members and I do not want it to automatically switch to the Screen Designer. Is there a way to set LPEX as my default for this source member type? Or could we add this functionality to this RFE?
I don't quite see the point of this. The default action in RSE is to open a DSPF/PRTF with Screen/Report Designer. Within the Designer, it is possible to switch back and forth between SOURCE (edit) and DESIGN modes. I guess this RFE is one of convenience, i.e. if the /initial/ open of the source member is through LPEX. (But since this not the default, a positive action has to be taken to select Open With > LPEX.) I don't see much "time saving" or productivity benefit.
However, what /would/ be handy is to have a split View capability, (like CTL+2 within LPEX) so that the DESIGN view and the SOURCE view can be arranged side by side - rather than having to switch between the two.
