This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

There is a preference that controls this behaviour. On the LPEX Editor>Find Text preference page, the user can turn off the 'Incremental find dialog' preference.
A preliminary evaluation of this request indicates that it is consistent with our business strategy. Further evaluation of this RFE is underway.
Invoking the find dialog (or whatever you want to call Ctrl+F) does not just open the dialog (the behavior I want), it also finds the last occurrence of something. For example, find "output" and the close the dialog. Move the cursor to another spot in the code where you do not have any text that matches what you last searched for. Say you're actively working on code there and you want to search for a new word so you use Ctrl+F and BAM the cursor is repositioned because the editor not only opened the find dialog but also thought it should do a search and you just lost the context you were working in. This is VERY invasive and a BIG interruption to the thought process which is why no other editor does this.
Hi,
we discussed about this RFE and found a bit confusing. Could you give us more detailed description about the desired behavior you expected?
Thanks.
