The reason this is important is because it is common to copy an existing display panel to use as a 'base' for the new one. There are often many fields in the base that are unnecessary.

For what it's worth, I tend to drop back to the source editor for much of this work, but it requires keeping good notes as to what needs to stay and what needs to go. WYSIWYG makes this work so much easier!

Thank you for taking the time to suggest this enhancement to our product.  Many of our product enhancements result from feedback from our customers, so your input is always very important to us. We do not have plans to address your request over the next 18 months due to limited time and many competing priorities, but may consider it at a later time.
If after 18 months, this continues to be important for you business needs, please feel free to resubmit for reconsideration during an appropriate planning cycle.
Again, thank you for your suggestion and continued support!

Would be nice to be able to select items as a group (Ctl + left click) and move, copy, delete, etc, as with most graphical design packages. Even though we are not designing a graphical interface (ha!)
