For overlaid constants and fields you can select which ones to work with by single clicking slowly and the properties view will rotate though the stacked fields / constants.
Thank you for taking the time to suggest this enhancement to our product. Many of our product enhancements result from feedback from our customers, so your input is always very important to us. We do not have plans to address your request over the next 18 months due to limited time and many competing priorities, but may consider it at a later time.

In some visual editors there is the option of moving the selected object to the top of the stacking order, so that it is in front of other objects. Would this kind of feature be preferable in the design tab or would setting condition indicators be required?
