Enhanced Compare Selection Interface

The ability to show a comparison between two or three members is a very handy feature but the ability to select the member to compare to is cumbersome/time consuming. To select the member, either you have to have the library in the list or specify it, then you have to navigate down the tree which takes time, especially with long lists to update. It takes between one and two minutes to get to the actual member to select. Afterwards, the feature does the comparison with no issue.

The request is to enhance the feature to be able to 1) remember past selections, and/or 2) bring up the previous list where you left off so you don't have to renavigate again.

This feature would be specific to navigation to members on a System i, but could be envisioned to be expanded to the IFS or other directory sources.

This feature is relevant to a project where it is necessary to view source from a vendor with your source to identify differences. The ability to be more flexible in the selection of the member to compare to would shorten the amount of time transitioning from one comparison to another. For companies that have to rely on either upgrading to the latest version vs. customizations that they have made for an entire release, or similarly bring in selective updates from future releases in the interim, this would be a time saver in getting the comparison done quicker.
