IBM i Search (CTRL-H) running in background

I wish the IBM i search (CTRL-H) would run in the background, just like the outline does. That way, we could continue to work while the search is in progress. We could even launch multiple search at once. I'm still using FNDSTRPDM and option 25 in PDM because it's taking too much time in RSE.

Use Case:

I do a search while I continue to edit a source in LPEX.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Programming Languages
Product - Developer for Power Systems

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Rational
Product family - Design & development
Product - Developer for Power Systems

This RFE is consistent with our strategy and product roadmap and will be under consideration for a future release. Status has been updated to Uncommitted Candidate.

I voted for this one, but I'd opt for faster over background mode for sure. Background is a band-aid for this really slow performing feature. It seems unreasonably slow, compared even to the same search run from PDM. Worst-case is the disappointing attempt to limit the search scope using a member filter. I've found better response times by a wide margin searching all (many hundreds) members in a file versus a filter that selects a handful, say 10 or so.
