Increase speed of QFileSvr.400 and NFS connections

SAP transports (STMS) on IBM i are running very slow compared to other platforms, regardless if using QFileSvr.400 or NFS.

Use Case:

We are using SAP Transports, which depend on the performance of QFileSvr.400, which is NOT the fastest interface. Now SAP found a way to use NFS for doing the SAP Transports. In general NFS should be much faster then QFileSvr.400, but it's not, at least when we talk about native NFS on the IBM i. We found out that when we use a LINUX NFS Client connected to the IBM i NFS, the NFS is much faster, than using the native IBM i NFS to IBM i NFS connection.

    Thank you for your request.

IBM i 7.3 has changes that greatly improve the performance of these transports using either QFileSvr.400 or NFS.
