Access Client Solutions window focus

Please prevent ACS from stealing window focus.

Use Case:

Sometimes, after I've started a data transfer or opened any ACS file type (.hod, .bchx, .dtfx, .dttx), it takes a minute and I try to work on something else while I wait. However, when the file finishes opening or when the transfer completes, ACS steals focus back, so I find myself suddenly typing or clicking in ACS instead of in the other task.

    Thank you for submitting your Request For Enhancement. As noted in the Discussion, some items have been previously implemented. Due to a low vote count, this RFE is being Declined. If there is still a specific scenario that needs attention, please open a separate RFE and identify that scenario.

    IBM understands this request and will consider it for a future code update, though no commitment is made or implied.

    Cool - thanks much! (Would have replied sooner but didn't realize this had been updated, sorry.)

    I have updated the Data Transfer status bar so that it will show "Transfer in progress: ". When the transfer has ended, it will display the existing message of "Rows transferred: ". That will be in our next update coming out in July.
    The suggestion for not stealing focus when starting a saved .hod, saved .dtfx, or the main ACS screen is being considered.

    That will help, but it doesn't solve the problem. (1) Anytime I open an ACS item (such as the main ACS screen, a saved .hod file for a session, or a .saved dtfx file for a transfer), I get a "Java loading"-type message window, which then goes away, and then the item itself opens in its expected window. The latter window steals focus, which is a problem because sometimes I want to work on something else while waiting for it to open. (2) When a transfer window opens, the lower left is blank, which is fine. When the transfer starts running, the lower left shows progress as the number of rows transferred, and that number increases as the transfer progresses, all of which is fine. But when the transfer completes, the lower left doesn't indicate that the transfer is done; it just continues to display the number of rows transferred. If I disable the transfer-completion message, there's no way to tell at a glance whether the transfer is done or if it's still in progress and just taking a while (either because the file is large or because the connection is slow).

    The completion message which is stealing focus can be disabled by:
    Properties->Display (tab)
    Uncheck "Display transfer completion message"
    The Start Transfer button will become enabled when the transfer is complete.

    Let us know if that meets your requirement.
