When developing SQLRPG programs, I frequently have to deal with large multiline literal strings for defining SQL statements. I have in fact exceeded the size limit of a string literal in the past. It would be nice to have a HEREDOC syntax for assigning literal strings. It would make these assignments easier to read because the alternatives are to use '+' signs and multiple assignments of shorter literals. It would also be nice if the new syntax could allow embedded quotes without requiring escaping as SQL statements frequently contain single quotes, and could include double quotes.
Defining embedded static SQL statements.
