Restore IFS IASP data in a different LPAR with different IASP name

Now a day, its so difficult to restore IFS data by Backup, Recovery and Media Service for IBM i in the following scenario:
- IFS objects saved from “System A” in iASP “IASP1”
- To “System B” in iASP “IASP2”
PS: Also, if the data was saved in parallel mode, the restore should be done in interactive mode which is hard to huge environments.

Thanks,
Alberto PIOVENZAN

Use Case:

So, my suggestion is to improve BRMS to make possible to restore IFS saved from iASP em parallel mode to a different system and iASP name easily with WRKMEDIBRM and RSTBRM commands.

Batch mode is supported. .I did read over the PMR and it appears the support folks were wrong...this dealt with batch vs interactive...you were able to get the interactive to work but didn't know how to do it in batch. Although your request doesn't really mention this....if you are requesting batch mode...you do this:
Select option 7 (or you can do option 9 if you want detail)
Select option 7 (Do NOT hit enter!) but hit PF14 submit to batch...this will then prompt you the same way as interactive and then it will submit it to batch....it will save away the media defn and in the new job restore it for you!
Hope this helps....if not...please send me an email at drbhas@us.ibm.com. Thanks.

    Hi,
In my case I found this issue to restore IFS data (mounted UDFS) from a backup made in parallel mode.

In using WRKMEDIBRM FROMSYS(xxxx) the IFS was restored to ASP *SYSBAS.

Please, find enclosed some information about how I performed this restore interactively in details, according instructions passed for me in PMR 81825,235,631.

So, it would be better can do this kind of restore (interactive and batch mode) easily.

    Thanks,
    Best Regards.

.This is supported if the BRMS systems are connected to the same tape library for example. WRKMEDIBRM FROMSYS(xxxx)
You can do interactive or batch restores.
It helps if they are in the same BRMS network.
What exactly is your use case?
    Thanks.

    Hello guys,

    Business Justification:

It's important have the flexibility to restore IFS data in a more easy and fast way, specially for huge environments like Boticario's where there is SAP ERP running.

So in a DR scenario time is very important !

    Thanks,
    Best Regards
