Web service server returning HTTP status AND errors details in the Body

id like, on REST web service, be able to returning HTTPstatus and errors details in the Body (for exemple in JSEND format)


Use Case:

it's better for the client (for exemple during a creation with POST) to signal an error (500) and the reason(s) why the sent datas are not correct.

    In the latest HTTP group PTFs for 7.2, 7.3, and 7.4, you will have ability to indicate one of the following:

    (1) Do not return payloads on errors (this is current default)
    (2) Return all output parameters on errors
    (3) Return a character field parameter on error

    The third option allows you to send any type of payload (e.g. json, xml, html) as long as you set the content-type http header correctly.

    IBM agrees with the request and a solution appears to be desirable and feasible. IBM intends to provide a solution. However, IBM's plans may change and no commitment is made that a solution will be provided.

    This is already available in other plateformes and requested by our clients.

    We also would like to return status 4xx with a message body having more detail of the error.
