Deliver wget or curl as part of the base PASE, or rather, make sure wget or curl comes preloaded on all IBM i operating system installations. This would be instead of delivering it with 5733OPS.
As we gain momentum with open source on IBM i we're finding there are a few steps here and there that aren't huge issues but they definitely slow down adoption. The reason being is then installation of new software could be streamlined. For example, here's how the rvm (Ruby Version Manager) is installed:
$ curl -sSL https://get.rvm.io | bash -s stable
The curl program is used to download an initial bash script that is then immediately invoked. Nice and simple. Other utilities take this approach.
The alternative is to first navigate to a website, download a zip, unzip on desktop, upload to IBM i, and finally, invoke from a shell.

.Sorry for not clarifying earlier. The delivery of 5733OPS helps to provide an important distinction between base environment and optional add-ons. We will continue to leverage 5733OPS to deliver such new function.
I'm agree with aaronbartell.
This RFE is a great improvement for Open Source usage on IBM i.
Ca you explain why you decline it?
Thanks.
This RFE previously had a status of "Planned for future release" and then today it was set to "Declined". I was curious if somebody at IBM could shed some light.
Thanks again for all the PASE attention.
