RSE Merge Like WRKMBRPDM Option 55 of PDM

Want RSE to have a Merge feature to go along with the Compare feature. Have it work like WRKMBRPDM Option 55 of PDM.


Use Case:

Before we move something up to Production, we compare(CMPM) the test program with production program. Check to see if code from other programmers is in it and needs stripped out (we put Project numbers in Column 1-5 of the COBOL code to show which project it belongs to). If differences, I would rename the program in Test and copy the program down
from Production, do WRKMBRPDM option 55 to compare and merge just my lines of code into the production program (some programmers just copy and paste but find the Option 55 much more useful and less errors happen).

    In rereading the requirement, it is not clear that 3-way merge is really the issue. I now infer that what is really required is to do a merge on members in the RSE view. And this is an existing requirement at https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=70905
    which has already garnered more votes.
    Please vote for this latter RFE in order for it to reflect its true priority.

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Programming Languages
    Product - Developer for Power Systems

    For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:

    Just clarifying for our internal reference:
    PDM option 55 allows a 3-way merge from a common ancestor. Eclipse also provide this for Java. RDp would need to extend this Eclipse mechanism to work when 3 IBM i members are selected.
