PowerSC TNCPM is widely used by customers to deploy security patches on AIX LPARs. Currently, the security ifixes are installed through NIM server. Some customers do not use NIM because NIM has a complex port requirement as described in the following link (https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/nim-communication-within-firewall-environment). Many times the ifix installation fails because of misconfiguration of NIM environment.
PowerSC should also provide an option to directly install/deinstall ifixes without NIM. Installation of security ifixes is a frequent operation. Having an option to install it directly will greatly help customers.
Also, we can add an option to display the status of currently installed ifixes from the TNC server. The TNC server should be able to view the "emgr -l" output of a client. This will make it easier to manage and check ifix status of the client from the TNC server.
Primarily, I am opening this request for ifixes but we can also check the possibility to do this for AIX TL and SP installation i.e. to provide an option to install TL and SP without NIM.

PowerSC should have implicit and inherent capability to handle patching in a centralized way. Must not have dependency on other solutions. Having many moving parts does not help in consistent deployment.
