This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Could you please relook into this ?
We have more customers with such configurations and this is becoming a show-stopper.
As a alternative allowing multiple SCG per VM can also help.
Please look into this
The requirement is to allow attachment of volumes to a VM using separate set of tagged ports. For example out of 3 volumes in a VM , vol-1 is attached via ports tagged as "boot". And volumes vol-2 and vol-3 are attached via ports tagged as "data". Resulting VM will have 3 volumes but through different tagged ports. Moreover each port group, "boot" and "data", connected to at-least two fabrics.
Does SCG allow this ? Also we cannot use more than one SCG per VM.
Thanks for the suggestion. This feature can already be performed using the 'Port Configuration' aspect of PowerVC in the top-level 'Configuration' tab. You can assign tags to your various HBA ports and create storage connectivity groups (SCGs) across that target ports with specified tags. The SCG can be specified at VM deploy time, which will isolate the traffic to the proper host/VIO servers.
