Set null value in imageRef when using DynamicFlavors

When the SAN is managed by other teams, you can set a null value in imageRef when using DynamicFlavors. SAN team propose an API to create remotly disks, so use it to deploy AIX.

    RFE developed on :
Deploy a virtual machine using existing boot and data volumes
PowerVC images are backed by storage volumes. When an image with volumes is deployed, the virtual machine uses the clone copy of the image volumes. You can now choose to create an image without any volumes attached. While deploying this image, you can select the existing volumes in the Deploy template. This prevents cloning of volumes and avoids any data redundancy. For details, see Deploy an image using existing volumes. RFE ID: 124189.

    Thanks

    Hello IBMers

Thank you, yes, i agree. That will help us to deploy new AIX easily with PowerVC, and storage team will continue to manage their storage systems.

Thanks for reaching out with your requirement and we apologize for delay in response here.

We might need some discussion to understand your requirement better and provide viable solution. Are you OK with the new feature that will allow you to use the existing SAN volume created by your SAN admin in PowerVC? instead of creating the new SAN volume during each deploy.

Let us know if you are fine discussing requirements over call.
