Hi,
I raised TS001364504, to ask how to change the storage connectivity group of an existing VM in PowerVC. The answer came back that this is not possible, the storage connectivity group can only be set on the creation of a new VM. Hence raising the the request for this feature.
At my site we are migrating existing LPARs to a new PowerCloud environment. We have 2 different classes of NPIV connectivity on our new machines (direct core and edge switch) and have setup 2 different storage connectivity groups for this.
The issue that has been encountered is that PowerVC doesn't allow the changing of a VM from the auto generated on import to PowerVC management eg:auto-vscsi_npiv storage connectivity group to one of our defined connectivity groups. This is stopping us from having PowerVC keep the VM connected to it's appropriate class of storage connectivity.
Thanks,
Phill.
