Improving Certificates Management in powervc-backup and powervc-restore
The powervc-backup tool requires enhancement to incorporate a valuable feature that verifies the expiration status ( in the next six months) of certificates utilized for web UI, messaging, and Virtual Console during the backup process. Moreover, when utilizing powervc-restore to perform a restoration, it should initiate a validation process to detect any expired certificates within the backup.
Should expired certificates be identified during the restoration, the tool ought to prompt the user with a notification. It should provide an option to proceed with the restoration while offering a prompt to renew the expired certificates using an integrated tool. This will empower administrators to seamlessly restore host data while ensuring that the certificates remain up-to-date, guaranteeing a fully functional system after the restoration process.
