Just to further clarify: This request is not for PowerVC to create safeguarded snapshots but to use the newer Storage Virtualize snapshot technology (aka FlashCopy 2.0) instead of the legacy FlashCopy for its VM capture & deployment functions. The fact that PowerVC still uses FlashCopy makes it incompatible with a safeguarded snapshot cyber-resiliency solution required by our customers because by design for a volume with existing snapshots no new FlashCopies can be created.
