assigning another boot disk then remove the old one

The thing is that volume, in the VM, has been alt_disk_copy to another volume. Now the VM is booted on the new volume, so I don't need the old one anymore.
Normally, in a powervm Environnement, I assign a new disk, alt_disk_copy to it, then remove in the lpar and then unmap in the VIO. After that I just delete the disk in the VIO and ask SAN to unmask it.
So the disk relly isn't used in the lpar. It was once a bootdisk but isn't anymore. Maybe I'm not doing it the right way. Assigning another bootdisk is something I do often when admins are doing their upgrades. So I need to have a way to do it again.
