PowerVC Support for Centrify AD Users

After upgrading to PowerVC 1.3.2 we have experienced that any new users added to openstack were no longer available to use PowerVC.
I think that this might have something to do with an addition of powervc-filter group

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSXK2N_1.3.2/com.ibm.powervc.standard.help.doc/powervc_config_users_groups.html
I have added those AD accounts to that group and was able to add the users again.

when adding users that are not part of this local group, I receive the message that user id is not found.

Centrify AD groups that were added prior to the upgrade, still work without any group changes on the local server

Thanks for the update. We will look into this request to run PowerVC alongside Centrify.

Thank you for the write-up. PowerVC 1.3.2 introduces the notion of a "group" filter and all local OS users need to be added to this group before they'll be visible to PowerVC (you can also change the set of groups by using the "powervc-config identity..." CLI as documented on the Knowledge Center).

In terms of the request that any users/groups that had role assignments prior to the upgrade to PowerVC 1.3.2 also work post upgrade, that is the intended behavior of PowerVC as we don't want to introduce additional administrative overhead of any kind. If you ran into an issue here, we kindly ask that you open a PMR so that IBM support personnel can diagnose the issue.

...we hope you enjoy using PowerVC!
