Power8 and Power9 servers use UAK (Update Access Key) for firmware updates.
There is warranty period and maintenance period. There is no possibility to generate UAK in warranty period (in last 30 days of warranty period) that extend expiration date to the date in maintenance period. Customers get warnings about UAK expiration of UAK but he is not able to generate new UAKs with extend expiration date. It is annoying to get warnings and have no chance to correct it.

In CEDs (the contract database outside of the US), because there is a system limitation that prevents >1 agreement from being registered, a key cannot be issued by EES until the current warranty or HWMA agreement has expired, however, CEDs is in the process of being sunset.
We have asked that the follow-on product have the ability to register multiple agreements that reflect a future start date, so the system is able to process a request for a new key before the start date of the new agreement."
