Allow for profile changes during LPM to save downtime on systems

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

An lpar with min 1G, desired 10G and max 16G memory profile, requires a reboot and profile change to move the min or max numbers to anything else.  Since during an LPM it first creates a new profile on the target frame, sure would be nice if say the max memory could be changed and thus save any downtime in updating min/max for memory of an lpar.  LPM a system to a new frame and get the new profile and then LPM it back to the original spot and poof no downtime and mission accomplished.

This would benefit uptime on production systems that are not allowed to be shutdown often.  Also it would make all system administrators happy.

    Hello,

Good idea, do you know that this is already possible with LKU, if you running AIX 7.3 TL03?

So I think this is maybe also possible during a LPM.

But maybe you like to have a look at the LKU (Live Update option) in AIX 7.3 TL03

    Greetings CS.
