PowerVM LPM and vswitch name change required

Hi IBM.
Our client (Commonwealth Bank Australia) would like to set-up two PowerVM virtual switches in each frame, one for production traffic and one for non-production traffic.

We created the 2nd vswitch on frame 11 but we were unable to LPM any LPARs to the frame as the source and target frames had different vswtich names (as documented in the redbook). The source frame has only the default vswitch ethernet0 and the target frame had both vswtiches, ethernet0 for prod and ethernet2 for nonprod.

After raising a PMR with IBM, it appears that there is no way to currently change the PowerVM vswitch name during an LPM. Our suggested aproach involved building a new VIOS pair on the 2nd vswitch and then arranging an outage to migrate the LPAR config to the new vswitch.

In fact, it appears that you cannot change the vswitch name without incuring some sort of IP outage and even this option (ifconfig transfer) requires new virtual ethernet adapters in the LPARs, thereby changing all the ent? numbers to something new.

It would be really nice if PowerVM would allow the vswitch name to be changed during an LPM migration of a running LPAR.

    The ability to specify the vSwitch to use on the LPM target system is planned for a future release. IBM should be able to share actual target date within a few months of this note
