LPM network interface option

During initial LPM (Powervm 2.2.5.10)
The 'mover' presents several network interfaces to choose from. These interfaces have been test with a PING, (tested by LPM not user ) and PING have tested as affirmative. LPM assumes that network interface is OK. In reality, PING packet would go thru the firewall, but a Firewall may block TCP packets or some other type of packets. This is a false-positive of a good network test.
A simple PING test may not be a good way to test if an interface is on the network or not.
In this case, customer selects an interface for the Mover, only to find out that Firewall is blocking traffic from the interface.
Customer would like to see a better way for LPM to test network connectivity, and not rely on just a PING test.
At this time, customer must bring down the interfaces, for which their traffic will not go thru the firewall.

    So this RFE was created over 5 years...Is there nothing going to be done from the support side about this enhancement request? It is silly that the validate step is successful but the actual migration fails because of a firewall issue. Is there no way to actually check if the required ports are open to the mover VIOS during validation?
