SSP LUN Space Reclaim

When using SSP deployment, Tiers can be created as Thin provisioned thus consuming LUN space that is used in the assigned LPARs.
By time data in the LUs is written and subsequently erased, causing the LUs (and their containing tiers) to inflate.
The LUNs at a storage level grow in size and never release the unused space back to the storage.
Other virtualisation solutions and NPIV drives support the 'Space Reclamation' where the SAN can detect unused block via SCSI commands sent by the host.
This does not work with AIX vSCSI devices and storage space is wasted.

IBM has evaluated the priority of this enhancement proposal relative to other future product content and determined that this RFE will not be pursued for a future product release.
