AIX System Dump Collection process should be enhanced to capture required data for any crash analysis. Every time there is systems hung or crash, only feedback we get is SNAP did not capture system DUMP. we have all hosts with "Firmware assisted - dump type” & “full memory dump – disallow” and additionally dump LV size way more than Estimated dump size. Even after all that still we are seeing no DUMP data was captured or Partially failed DUMP. we want IBM to enhance the existing DUMP collection process to capture required data specific for any system hung or crash analysis only.

* Without getting overly technical - AIX dump needs to, by default - support what support says it is needing. To not do so is, simply, a bug - and fixing that is not an enhancement - it is a bugfix.
* "DUMP" changed in AIX 7.1 TL5 (SP4 or 5, or was it SP0) - and this needs to be backported - even though AIX 7.1 TL4 is (nearly) out of support. Not doing so will break OSS projects that rely on the dump mechanism - but are trying to still be supporting from AIX 7.1 TL4 (or earlier).
* Yes, in an ideal world everyone will update their base OS to the latest TLSP, but more often - only applications get updated.
** In any case: fix AIX so that any data a service request is likely to need is automatically collected - and make sure this fix is also applied to AIX 7.1
