This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

I propose the creation of a calculator to predict credit consumption. Currently, users of Power Enterprise Pools 2.0 can monitor credit consumption through the CMC console. However, there is no tool available that allows for the prediction of credit consumption based on defined resources (CPU, RAM, Software). Such a calculator would be useful for administrators who want to efficiently manage resources and plan for future needs. Effective resource management is crucial for cost optimization and ensuring system continuity.
To illustrate the utility of this tool, consider the following scenario:
Resources: 10 CPUs, 32 GB RAM, Midrange
Server: AIX with PowerHA SystemMirror for AIX - Enterprise Edition
Question: How long can one work on 1 capacity credit with the above resources?
I know there is a page https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/entitled-systems-support?topic=pep-power-enterprise-pools-20-what-is-credit-current-consumption-rates with the pricing, but calculating this can be challenging, and we are never as confident in our calculations as we would be if we received this information directly from the provider.
