Unrestricted access in HMC for debugging

HMC provides only a restricted. This makes us depend on IBM for most issues with a expensive turnaround time of 1 day. IBM provides pesh access again it takes time. The restricted shell makes it difficult to debug even simple issues regarding networking, examining logs (as cd command does not work) and some root functions. Customer purchases HMC is the owner of, but don't have root access to the product they purchased

    Hi,

    HMC is a closed appliance by design and hence the default restricted shell. Can you please provide some examples of functions you would like to perform in a restricted shell and use cases for the same? We do have some commands to help debug issues like diagrmc, lshmcfs. chhmcfs etc.
