Add File output option in Web Query to clear file first

A new File & Printer DB2 option (Format tab) in Web Query Version 2.2 that should be = Clear and Insert to existing table.


Use Case:

This feature could be used to Clear and Insert data in a table that is used in a view.
The ‘Create or replace table' alternative also deletes the view where the table resides.
And I don't want to ‘Append to existing table'.
I want to first Clear and then Insert to existing table.

    The DataMigrator is very interesting but we will not purchase DataMigrator now maybe in the future.

    So my only explanation is that it would be great to have this functionality directly in Web Query.

    Thank you for your request to IBM.

    Since DB2 Web Query is primarily a reporting tool, output to tables is by design quite limited. There is a companion called DataMigrator that is intended for Extract. Transform and Load (ETL) and is a more appropriate fit for generating table output. It has the feature of clearing the data before population. See https://ibm.biz/DB2WQDATAMIGRATOR.

    Please review if DataMigrator might work for your situation. If, after evaluation, you still feel DB2 Web Query needs to have this table enhancement, please provide that explanation. Thanks.
