Object control level - user defined attribute not persistent

IBM provide an API QLICOBJD which allows us to set some of the attributes of an object. This API is an extension of the CHGOBJD command that only covers limited fields. We use this to store a reference to which object promotion job/date/user etc promoted the object i.e. *PGM or *FILE etc. We have identified recently that under certain circumstances this value is reset to blank. The command CPYLIB, CRTDUPOBJ, YCRTDUPOBJ (This is a Synon2E command), CPYF and CPY/COPY object commands all lose the Object Control Level value for Logical Files (LF) and Physical Files (PF-DTA). *PGM and *FILE associated to DSPF and PRTF are okay.

Use Case:

Changed several *FILE objects using our QLICOBJD API to set the object control level field.

Tried tests duplicating the files with the CRTDUPOBJ cmd and also with the CPYF cmd.

The original (from file) still retained the object control level information.
The new file created did NOT have the object control level information copied over.

IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this request at this time, so it is being closed. While it is a valid request, the database team has a long list of higher priority requirements, so this request is not likely to be implemented anytime soon.
