Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

IBM i Search results view should include complete line even when searching specific columns

In IBM i search there is san option to restrict the search to a column range, however this also affects the results view as only those columns of the line is shown.
I think it more as the search criteria is a key and the result is the whole line.
For instance, we have special comments that specify compilation options or commands that start whit *#C in columns 7 to 9. If I specify these columns, the results view shows something like:
MemberName
*#C
*#C
*#C
instead of the following which gives me what I need to see without having to open the member.
Member Name
*#C: ovrdbf objlst qadspobj
*#C: ovrdbf mbrlst qafdmbrl
*#C: ovrdbf fldlst qadspffd

If I don't specify the column range, I also get code such as
#result = #qty*#cost;
