RELATED IDEAS

PowerHA should support metromirror on Storwize hyperswap configurations

PowerHA currently doesn't support metromirror configurations if storwize systems are configured as hyperswap.


Use Case:

In mixed operating system environments there might be a need to have hyperswap as well as metro-mirror configurations on storwize clusters.
e.g. hyperswap volumes for VMware ESX, Windows clusters, and metro-mirror for IBM i volumes
Currently IBM PowerHA for IBM i (cannot speak about AIX) doesn't support configurations when configuring hyperswap on storwize and manually setting up metromirror relations for IBM i luns.

    The PowerHA team does not intend to provide a solution to this request at this time, so it is being closed.
    The PowerHA product supports HyperSwap configurations, and it would be suggested that a SVC/Storwize cluster configured for HyperSwap will use a HyperSwap configuration within PowerHA.
