IBM i ACS Task Pane Should be Customizeable

In the Java Version of ACS (Currently at v 1.1.7.0) the Task pains on the leftside of the main ACSLaunch window are not configurable nor are they moveable. This means they are laid out the way the last programmer who worked on it felt it was convenient for them. The items in these task pains and the order of each group needs to be configurable via drag/drop.


Use Case:

As an Apple Mac OS X user, I use 5250 emulation and RUN SQL all the time. Those two options are on separate task pains and the 5250 is so far down the list that it is actually below the screen on my laptop and I have to drag the entire window up to find it before launching a session. In addition, when you exit and relaunch the app, any modifications to the task pains (currently they only support collapse and expand options) are lost.

    Thanks for making the request. At this time, we do not plan on providing the ability to move options around on the main panel. See sections 9.1 More command-line Options and 9.5 Customized Packages in the GettingStarted document for customization options.

    I appreciate the feedback on this request. Believe it or not, we have end-users that are NOT Programmers. We do NOT want them to see all the options, such as General, Database, and management. Nor do we want them to have direct access to the Systems dropdown. The ability to setup dozens or nearly 100s of users easily and consistently is a show-stopper for us with ACS--it will never be used unless this capability (customizable or direct access) is provided. Not only on Windows, but on Apple Mac as well.
