On the systems we manage JVM's plays an important part in running applications. Overall one could say that there roll is getting more and more importance.
Keeping track with the command WRKJVMJOB or the DB2 for i Service "QSYS2.JVM_INFO" are already available options. This means however that we have to switch from Nav41 to SQL or 5250 emulation.
When doing Systems Management it would be nice if we could use one UI to perform nearly all our tasks. When using Nav4i WRKJVMJOB is not an option so we have to switch to SQL or 5250. When working with young people it is difficult to explain that keeping an eye on JVM's can not be done with Nav4i. Working with active jobs is possible, so why is the option missing to work with JVM jobs, an equivalent to WRKJVMJOB?

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a high priority requirement that is important to be addressed. Although there is a work-around to get the required management function, IBM Navigator for i is to be the product of choice for managing the i, so it is High priority to add all commonly used management functions into the product.
