Since PM for Power is being discontinued on September 30, 2020, clients need a way to view graphed performance data for all supported releases.

Use Case:

Currently, Graph History of the performance data collected using Collection Services is available in the web based Navigator for i for OS 7.3 and higher. This request is for Navigator for i Graph History for OS 7.2 also.

    Having considered this request, it is now being Declined. The function is available, as stated, in IBM i 7.3 and newer releases. It will not be PTFed back to IBM i 7.2 because the size & complexity of the work (and 7.2 will soon be End of Support).     Hi

    If you are prepared to cut some code of your own, all the information you would need is stored in the 7.2 based performance data.
    As the data in these tables typically only covers a 24 period, you would need to create an extra view of the data that links multiple tables but it is doable and you would have the added bonus of then being able to format and send the data in a way that suits you best.

    There are some third-party tools out there that will do this for you too if you don't want to cut code.


    All of those things said, 7.2 will soon be end of life just like the PM tools you mention. So, if you are going to invest time and money in getting this performance data, you could consider putting that resource into an OS upgrade to 7.3 / 7.4 and you would get the Graph History data you want at no extra cost.

    There are loads of other reasons why you should consider an upgrade, TLS1.3 and SMBv3 being two of my key drivers.
