Retrieve TCP/IP Servers Attributes

There is no option to retrieve or dump the current TCP servers configurations (Telnet & FTP), the only way to display the value is using the change server attributes commands interactively, which is not useful to be used in batch programs/scripts

Use Case:

We are trying to develop our own compliance programs to measure out or compliance score against the CIS benchmarks, some of these controls are to figure out if our telnet & FTP services are configured to allow only secured connections, we couldn't find any way to retrieve this information using a script to automate the compliance scoring process.

    The TELNET_SERVER_ATTRIBUTES view - https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6573025
as well as the TCPIP_INFO view - https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/qsys2tcpipinfo
should provide what you are looking for. Checkout ALLOW_TRANSPORT_LAYER_SECURITY and other fields in the TELNET_SERVER_ATTRIBUTES.
The TELNET_SERVER_ATTRIBUTES view returns a single row containing the Telnet server attributes that have been configured using the Change Telnet Attributes (CHGTELNA) command.
These are used in the IBM Navigator for i interface where you can work with Network > TCP/IP Servers

If you have additional requirements, please let us know and we will consider adding to these SQL services.

The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a MEDIUM priority requirement that should be addressed.

Background: The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT
